Starting Out - My Background before Talent: My journey in the world of technology began when I got my first computer, a Commodore 64, at the age of 15. Initially, I enjoyed playing games, but soon my curiosity led me to explore how it all worked, and I started writing my first lines of code. This ignited my passion for programming, and eventually, I developed my first commercial point-of-sale (POS) system, which I sold at the age of 18. Since then, I have been running my own companies and have worked in various roles in the university, public, and private sectors, accumulating diverse experiences along the way.
My New Role in Talent: I recently joined Talent in November 2022, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team. As a Technical Architect in the Apprenticeship Service, I am responsible for designing the application architecture for two teams and overseeing about 10 different projects. Each day presents unique challenges and opportunities, from gathering information and analyzing project dependencies in meetings to creating architecture diagrams and documentation for the projects I am assigned to. I also collaborate with other architects from different projects to validate our findings, discuss project interactions, and explore new technologies. I particularly enjoy the diversity and constant learning that comes with each day, as well as being able to contribute my insights to discussions.
Building Better - What Makes Talent Different: Talent has been a unique and positive experience for me, as it is my first time working for an agency. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported by the team. The culture at Talent is exceptional, with a focus on collaboration and inclusivity.
